Adding a whitelisted (private) charging card to your charging point

1. Go to “Charging Cards” in the portal

Log in to your Wattify portal via admin.wattify.be. In the left-hand menu, click on Charging Cards under the Main Menu section. You will now see an overview of all existing charging cards in your account, with columns for name, RFID tag number, activation status and creation date.

Screen: Charging Cards – List Overview page showing all charging cards, with the “Create Charging Card” button in the top right-hand corner

*For a new account, the list will be empty. You can get started straight away by clicking the green ‘Create Charging Card’ button in the top right-hand corner.

2. Click the green ‘Create charging card’ button in the top right-hand corner. The creation form opens with three tabs at the top: Details, Settings and Advanced.

The form opens automatically on the ‘Details’ tab, which contains the mandatory basic information about the charging card.

Screen: Create charging card – ‘Details’ tab Form with fields: Name*, RFID*, Email*, Registration number, Owner (Customer / Employer / Owners’ Association)

3. On the ‘Details’ tab, complete the following fields:

Field

Description

Name

A recognisable name for the charging card, e.g. “Jan’s Badge” or “Reception Charging Card”

Required

RFID

The unique badge number of the charging card (printed on the card itself). Your charging station reads this number upon contact.

Required

Email

The user’s email address for any session notifications

Required

Vehicle registration number

Vehicle registration number — for internal records only

Optional

Customer / Employer / Owners’ Association

Link the charging card to an owner in the system (useful for split billing)

Optional

*Tip – Finding the RFID number: The RFID number is usually printed on the back of the badge (e.g. an 8- or 14-digit hexadecimal code). Does your charging station have a learning mode? If so, you can also scan the badge directly without having to enter the number.

4. Click on the Settings tab. Here you will find one option:

Email after charging session – Toggle this on if you want the user to automatically receive an email as soon as a charging session is completed.

Screen: ‘Settings’ tab Toggle: ‘Email after charging session’ – disabled by default

The “Settings” tab offers the option to enable or disable email notifications after each charging session.

5. Select “LOCAL” as the authorisation method – this is the whitelist setting

This is the key step for a whitelisted charging card. Click on the Advanced tab.

You will see the ‘Authorisation’ field with a drop-down menu. Here, you can specify how your charging station verifies the badge.

Screen: “Advanced” tab “Authorisation” field with drop-down menu — “NETWORK (Allow on Wattify network)” selected by default

The ‘Advanced’ tab with the ‘Authorisation’ field. Click on the drop-down menu to change the mode.

Clickon the drop-down menu and select LOCAL (Whitelist only). Your charging station will then store the badge ID locally and only allow that badge – even without an internet connection.

6. Save and check

Click ‘Create’ at the bottom to save the charging card.

Would you like to create a second one straight away? Then click on ‘Create & create new’ – the form will remain open and blank for the next charging card.

Screen: Charging card created The new charging card appears in the overview with a green tick next to ‘Active’

Once saved, the new charging card will appear in your overview. You can always make changes via ‘Edit’.

The charging card has been created and is active! Your charging station will automatically receive the badge configuration. It may take up to a few minutes for the setting to take effect at the charging station itself.
